ScottVoiceovers.com Updated!

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

A website requires regular maintenance, like a dragster engine or Joan Rivers’ face. Here’s what we’ve done at ScottVoiceovers.com recently to maximize your browsing pleasure.

We’ve added new Miscellaneous Audio samples. Click here for a listen.

We’ve updated our Copy Samples. Click here and read them aloud. It’ll confuse those around you, especially if they don’t speak English.

And we’ve added a link to our Facebook page.

The website has been properly lubricated and buffed to a high sheen. Loose screws have been screwed unloose. And we bleached the site to enhance its stunningly white background.

We hope you think it’s the cat’s meow, and we hope that these updates have convinced you to make ScottVoiceovers.com the center of your world.  Best of luck.

Want to earn five cents the hard way? Then listen to this kooky On Hold Messaging for Walter’s Goodyear. If you don’t at least crack a smile we’ll mail you a nickle. Scout’s honor! (Just send us a self-addressed stamped envelope and $9.00 to cover handling costs.)

Through BusinessVoice, I wrote the copy, and Amy and I provided the voiceover. If you like what we do, let’s talk about creating radio spots or video content for your company. Call 419/724-7330.

Look at what a few of our satisfied customers have said. Then, feel free to enjoy this picture of a rock.

An Award-Winning Weekend

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

We’re as happy as a spoon in grits to announce that our work was honored with two of the five trophies presented at the 2010 MARCE Awards. The MARCEs are presented each year at the On Hold Messaging Association’s annual conference, held March 20th in San Diego this year.

We received the only two Judge’s Choice awards for our work on behalf of Amazing Space and Discount Parts Exchange. Through BusinessVoice, I wrote the copy and served as voice talent on both productions. Amy provided voice talent on Amazing Space.

Listen to the Amazing Space production here.

Listen to the Discount Parts Exchange production here.

The Judges’ Comments

“The on hold messaging for Discount Parts Exchange has a great mix of humor and relevant information. Even though I have never had any contact with Discount Parts Exchange, I already have a positive image of them. Their production creates an image of a friendly and helpful organization. The voice talent is excellent and seems to be a great fit for their target audience. The messages are short and intermixed with music so that they do not overwhelm the listener. I wouldn’t mind being on hold with this production.” - Mike Kurtz / University of Dayton’s Media Production Group

“Love the [Amazing Space] concept. On the surface it seems like normal, everyday on hold messaging, but what the voiceover is saying is VERY different. Great idea!” - Dave Savage / Station Branding Manager for Clear Channel Radio

Holding Is Jolly Good Fun at Discount Parts Exchange

Friday, February 26th, 2010

…Thanks to its wacky On Hold Marketing from BusinessVoice.

The judges for the Advertising Club of Toledo’s 2010 Addy Awards rather enjoyed it too. They presented BusinessVoice with a Bronze Addy Award last night for an OHM production we created for Discount Parts Exchange. I wrote the copy and served as voice talent. Click here to give it a listen.

“What I Want For Christmas!”

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

That’s the name of the crazy Christmas video from the gang at BusinessVoice. I wrote the script and directed the shoot. BusinessVoice Creative Consultant Bob Seybold shot and edited the whole shebang.

So, whadya’ say, Rudolph? Why not click here for 90 seconds of holiday merriment - in full color.

Need a Free Giggle?

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Then click here to listen to BusinessVoice’s humorous On Hold Messaging for Walter’s Goodyear. You’ll hear chuckle-inducing phrases such as “big price-beatin’ stick”…”a fat guy on a discount ladder”…and “the rubberiest place on Earth.”

The production just won a 2009 Gold MarCom Award. I wrote the copy and Amy provided all the voiceover. I believe that entitles us to a Nobel Prize for Marketing.

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Take a listen right here to the new radio spots we wrote, voiced and produced for AllToledo.com, the home information website. But take care: they may seduce you into buying a new house or two. Yeah, they’re THAT good, according to our moms. So get your checkbook ready and click AllToledo.com on our Miscellaneous Audio page.

An “Amazing” Place - Twice

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Jeepers! We’re just as pleased as peas to announce that our work on behalf of BusinessVoice client Amazing Space has placed in two recent award competitions. It won a Silver ADDY Award in late February and a Silver MARCE Award during the On Hold Messaging Association (OHMA) conference in March.

Also at the OHMA shindig, we picked up a Judge’s Choice Award for our entry for The Kellermeyer Company. I wrote the copy for both after standing too close to an open vat of glue, and Amy and I split the voiceover duties. You can listen to both entries here, as well as our 2008 winner for Discount Parts Exchange.

Here’s what the judges had to say about our entries:

“Superbly written copy and extremely dry humor that was a perfect match for what could’ve been a dull subject. I laughed out loud at points, and if a caller starts with that reaction, it’s a great way to start a conversation.”

“Nice, unexpected copy; catches the ear.”

“Very clever writing and some funny moments. Mocks some conventional clichés, and I believe that would endear [the client] to the caller…”

Flash: We Enjoy Winning Awards

Monday, November 24th, 2008

We’re just as happy as a monkey with a hand gun to announce that our radio PSA for “Nature’s Nursery” was a double award winner this month. The project received a Crystal Award of Excellence from Women In Communication (Toledo chapter) and an Honorable Mention from the national MarCom Awards. You can listen to the piece at our Miscellaneous Audio page.

Our work for BusinessVoice was also acknowledged with a Gold MarCom Award and another Crystal Award.

The Hero Program

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

I was happy to write the script and record the voiceover for the introductory video of The Hero Program, an effort designed to make life a little easier - and more affordable - for members of the military, law enforcement officials and fire fighters. You can see the short video on our Miscellaneous Audio page.
